Privacy Notice - Driving Tuition
Steve Hayward ADI (“the Instructor”) is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What Personal Data Is Collected
The Instructor may collect and store: name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, driving licence details, lesson progress records, test booking information where provided, and payment/lesson booking records.
2. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used only for purposes connected with providing driving tuition and meeting legal obligations, including lesson delivery, progress assessment, communication, record keeping for DVSA and insurance requirements, and tax/business administration. Your data will not be used for marketing without your consent.
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
Data is processed under the lawful bases of contract performance, legal obligation, and legitimate business interests related to managing driving tuition services.
4. How Your Data Is Stored
Information may be stored securely on digital devices and/or in paper records. Reasonable steps are taken to protect data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
5. How Long Data Is Kept
Personal data is kept only as long as necessary. Typically, records are retained for up to 6 years after the last lesson for legal and tax purposes. Driving progress records may be deleted sooner if no longer required.
6. Sharing Your Data
Your information will not be sold or shared for marketing. Data may be shared with the DVSA in relation to driving tests, with insurers in the event of an incident, or where required by law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to your data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion where there is no legal reason to retain it, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
